Emma & Ali’s wedding in the Cowichan Valley was one I’ll never forget. Their day was full of so much laughter, warmth and the kind of energy that reminds you why wedding days are so special to photograph. What made this one even more meaningful for me was that Emma and I have known each other for years. She is one of those people who truly lights up a room- full of energy, kindness and sunshine wherever she goes. Ali is just as special in his own way; one of the most authentic and genuine people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Seeing the two of them together, surrounded by the people who love them most, felt incredibly special to witness and capture.
Their wedding at Birds Eye Cove was also especially memorable for me because it marked the final wedding I photographed on Vancouver Island before relocating to Alberta after ten beautiful years. It felt like such a meaningful way to close a chapter- documenting a day filled with so much joy, connection and genuine happiness.
The Cowichan Valley provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration- a place that holds so many memories for me as a photographer and a place I’ll always feel connected to.

Although I am now based in Alberta and photographing weddings throughout Edmonton, Calgary and surrounding mountain regions, Vancouver Island will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m so grateful for the incredible couples I had the opportunity to work with during my years there. I am always open to returning to the island for the right wedding and love any chance to revisit the places and people that were such a meaningful part of my journey as a growing wedding photographer. If you’re planning a wedding in Alberta or Vancouver Island and feel connected to my work, I’d love to hear from you.
